On the other hand, when a business invests on building a website, advertising the brand name through different social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedln, Google Plus, Instagram and YouTube, this strategy is called digital marketing.
Not everybody is interested in your products or services. You need people who really need what you offer. Before you search on Google, you have something you want to search for; you can just go to Google without having something in mind. Let’s say you want to advertise on TV, Radio or News paper and you paid $50 for 2 minutes. 99% of people who will buy news paper, watch TV and listen to Radio are not interested in what you sell. They have their own reason of buying newspaper, watch TV and Listening to Radio. That will waste your money right?

Let’s start from facebook. You want to advertise make up. You know that this product is for female right? If you want to run an ads on facebook, you can target female, target the age, age 65 and above don’t need your make up, you will be able to target from 20 to 45 or 50 which means you are getting the right audience for your product.
Another thing is, you can target based on their interest, only people who are interested in makeup will see your ads and you will not pay for people who is not interest in your offer. You can also target location. You and I know that there are some states that don’t like fashion; you can compare how people will buy make up in Lagos to that of Kaduna. All this is achievable on Digital marketing but you can’t do it on Traditional marketing.
Digital Marketing will allow your audience to choose how they want to receive your content. While some want to read blog content, another people will prefer to watch YouTube video. But in Traditional Marketing your audience doesn’t have the choice of choosing. Most people hate receiving sales flyers in their mailbox, or open news paper and find advert or phone calls at inconvenient times most especially if it’s something they don’t have interest in.
People made their choice when it comes to online, they received information based on their choice because they were the one who searched for it in the first place. To advertise on TV, Radio and News paper will cost you thousands and if you don’t have it you can’t start. But with small budget you can start Media ads. I have run Google ads of $5 before to text the market and I got great result, I have run $5 ads on facebook with good result. You don’t need to wait till you get thousands of dollars to run ads on social media, you can use the small budget you have to run ads and get good result.
